OFAC Adds Iran Law Enforcement Under Syria Sanctions

The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated the Law Enforcement Forces of the Islamic  Republic of Iran (Nirouye Entezami Jomhoori Eslami e Iran, or its acronym NAJA) today, under the auspices of the Syrian Sanctions Regulations, 31 CFR Part 542.  Also added under the Syria sanctions were two top individuals in NAJA, specifically, Ahmad Ismaeili-Moghaddam (NAJA Chief) and Ahmad-Reza Radan (NAJA Deputy Chief). These two were already named under the Iranian Human Rights Abuses Sanctions Regulations.
